Celebrating the Chinese Moon Festival
Rebecca brought moon cakes for everyone to share at The Butterfly House, in celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. Daddy came to visit, just in time to hear teacher Anne talk to the children (20 in number) about how messages were sometimes smuggled in moon cakes during times of oppression (八月十五殺韃子). As part of the day's events, Rebecca made a Chinese lantern out of construction paper, and the Children listened to Chinese music. For more on the moon festival and its legends, click here.
