She Turns One Today, But We Celebrate Tomorrow

Grandpa and Grandma Cook

Grandpa and Grandma Cook visted with Rebecca once before, as seen in this photo. Tomorrow (Saturday), they'll be back to celebrate her first birthday (which is actually today, March 30th)! We'll have cake and lots of fun. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Jim, and Cousins Robin and Joey will be here too---9 people in all!

Rebecca Likes Dr. Sedgwick

Rebecca Meets Our Close Friends Jim and Kathleen!

Kathleen and Jim Chesson have been two of our strongest supporters during the long wait we had for Rebecca. How terrific that they finally get to hold her!

Rebecca's Last Nanny at the Social Welfare Institute

Rebecca's Last Nanny

While we visited the SWI, we were able to take some great photos of Rebecca with the last nanny there to care for her. We got our guide, Lifeng, to write down her name in both English and Chinese (see inset in photo). In English it is Huang Guangrong.

Video at the Fuling Orphanage (SWI)

Back on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, we all visited the Social Welfare Institute (SWI) in Fuling where our babies spent much of their previous lives. At the time, I posted a few photos (click here), but now that we're back at home, I can post a little video:
