Caroling, cont.

Here's the report on the caroling Thursday from the Butterfly House weekly newsletter:

Thursday was our big day. We went caroling on campus! We sang our Christmas songs at the Refectory, the Welcome Center, and at Aspinwall to very appreciative audiences. Thank you all for helping so much! We’d like to thank Charles’ mother, Silas’ mama, Zoe’s mother, Ibby’s mother, Wadii’s and Laurice’s mother, Micah and Elijah’s father, Savannah’s father, Huw’s father, Christiana’s father, and Ms. Amy for all of their help. Our soon-to-be-new-friend Cabe joined us as well (as well as visiting with us again on Friday!) We sang well enough that someone up at the North Pole heard. Guess who was there to greet us when we got back to The Butterfly House? Santa! He knew all about us. After we were finished sharing all of our current news with him, he read us Twas the Night before Christmas. Then he gave each of us a gift. We gave him some Christmas cookies and sang for him before we ate our own cookies with hot chocolate. Thank you Santa! (And a big thank you to the two elves who talked with Santa for us!) Thursday afternoon, Ms. Amy came and did a special Godly Play, taking us through the Christmas story. Then she also told us the story of how Santa Claus became part of Christmas. Later in the afternoon, several Butterflies went and found our St. Nicholas book from St Nicholas’ Day and said that was the story Ms. Amy had told!
