Wonderful Barker-China New Year's Dinner

We had a great Chinese celebration dinner tonight in Rockville, with so many of our friends and their children from China from the Barker program. Jennifer and Hannah were there, as well as Samantha and Luke from our very own travel group! We'll be posting our pictures soon.

Update: The image used in this posting has been changed upon request. A link originally posted here has been removed.

We at Topmarks often do allow people to use our material, which we have taken the time to create or have paid for, if they have the courtesy to ask permission to use it. What we do object to is people like yourselves who think they have the right to take our content/images for their own use without asking in breach of our clearly displayed copyright.

Okay, anonymous, but the image was hardly aiding us here in any way. Rather, it was mostly directing people to your site, and I can hear the sting in your words about how I have taken that link away (my right). Further, I did not hear you requesting that we ask permission. I heard you demanding that we remove your copyrighted image. But, you probably have every right to demand exclusive rights to your image, so I'm going to allow your comment to stand. However, no more comments on this thread or I'll have to turn off the comment function of this blog, which is easily done. We're just a small private family trying to find some happiness together in this brutal life and to share a little of it on this blog, and I doubt more than one or two readers ever look this way. Are we really worth your trouble? In any event, the policy of this blog is to remove any material to which a claim of exclusive ownership is made upon request. I hope that that is exactly what was done in your case. We appear to have two very different understandings of what is, and what is not, common practice on the internet every day, so let us agree to disagree. Okay? In fact, I insist that this dicussion is now over, at least on this blog. If an apology for troubling you is in order, you may consider it tendered to you herewith. Sincerely, ---Dr. Cook
